Join us this September on Outdoor Saturday to learn how you too can utilize treasures found in nature! History-oriented wilderness and nature guide Joel Pyykkönen will share his personal collecting experiences and their usage and handling methods. He will also review general good practices, responsibilities, and obligations associated with collecting.
During the hike, you will learn, among other things, where to find usable natural fibers, what can be made from them, how to prepare bracket fungus for kindling, and what is currently available in nature.
On Saturday, September 6th, there are two departures for the tours:
At 11:30 AM, the tour is guided in Finnish.
At 2:00 PM, the tour is guided in Finnish and, if necessary, in English.
The hike starts at the main entrance of Haltia and covers a distance of approximately 3 km in the terrain. The hike ends back at the starting point at the main entrance of Nature Centre Haltia.
